My Definition Of Success | Success still means a lot, but that which defines success has changed for me, over the years. Simple answer is that when you’re young you have big dreams and you talk about “one day” then suddenly you wake up and you realize today is “one day”.  I think that’s when the more realistic idea of success starts to define your life. That said, I still dream of winning Wimbledon at age 60!!

I Am Driven By | Everything unrealistic and creating art that is yet to be thought of, whether it’s music or fine art. Our existence depends on these thought processes.

My Highlights | My career and my life is intertwined. I’ve been a lucky guy in both, but looking at my son I think he is a manifestation of everything I can call a highlight.

The Difference Between good And Great | Some people are semi talented and work hard, they are good at what they do. Others are very talented and do enough to get by, and they are great at their jobs.

A Key To Success | You need a healthy mind that fosters great decision making through objective thinking that harbors all the tools to take on day to day living and plans for the future by having a great understanding of your own strengths and that of others. Simple answer is … keep physically fit.

Principles I Live By | Be respectful of others and be positive.

Adjusting To The Times | Through the years I had to change my understanding of human interaction.  All people change constantly; cultures change; it’s an ongoing process and good interaction is pivotal to success.

How I Use My Mind | Goals and ambition comes from knowing yourself and being at peace with yourself, organizing your surroundings to reflect your mind-set and then everything else falls into place.

Lessons I’ve Learnt | Tough times and success go together like day and night, make peace with it and don’t freak out. You can never fathom what life has in store for you.

Dealing With Doubt | After Springbok Nude Girls broke up my record company left me and the phone stopped ringing. First depression set in then a liberating feeling came over me. I got private investors and started working on my first solo album without delusions of grandeur. Some how through that, great things started to happen for me and that became my best selling album yet.

Performing At My Peak | I rest well and try not to work too hard ha ha.

Resources I Use To Stay Inspired | I’m constantly discovering new music and art and scientific break-throughs, through YouTube and online in general.

My Future Ambition | I want to try my hand at new forms of art and try to live healthier.

The Meaning Of Life | Snakes and Ladders.  But while you’re at it create the most beautiful things possible.

The Best Advice I’ve Received | The universe is alive and interacts with itself, which we are a part of. Ask and you will receive.

Advice On Getting Rich | Don’t worry about money. Do something you love and money and happiness will arno-carstens-wintour-2013-_1_-picture-by-joanne-olivierautomatically follow.

How To Inspire Others | It’s difficult. The best is to set them free to make them do what they do best. Plus there are a lot of talented people in the world, don’t get stuck on specific souls, it’s not good for you or for the other person.

I Am Inspired By | Nick Cave. He is a brilliant artist

The Legacy I Want To Leave | I don’t really think about that as long as my kid is not too embarrassed by me, then I’m cool. I guess if I leave this planet and I’ve made some people happy it would have all been worth it.
