Stacy Lewis | Professional Golfer

Stacy Lewis is an American professional golfer on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She has won two major championships: the Kraft Nabisco Championship in 2011 and the Women’s British Open in 2013. She was ranked number one in the Women’s World Golf Rankings for four weeks in 2013, and reclaimed the position in June 2014 with a victory at the ShopRite LPGA Classic for another 21 weeks.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Lewis grew up in Texas at The Woodlands outside of Houston, and graduated from The Woodlands High School in 2003. Suffering from scoliosis, which was diagnosed at age 11 and treated by a spinal fusion when she was in high school, Lewis missed her first collegiate golf season recovering from the surgery.

Stacy-Lewis_P3My Definition Of Success | Success is trying to get better everyday and always giving 100%.  My definition has changed over time.  I am not as focused on the long term goals as much as I am focused on the day to day.

I Am Driven By | I can always be better on and off the golf course.  I can always handle the golf sponsors, and fans in a better manner.

My Highlights | I am most proud of the assistance that I have lent to the University of Arkansas and am proud that I left the golf program in a better place.  I want the current girls on the team to experience even more success.

The Difference Between Good And Great | A proper mindset can take you from good to great. Many people do not succeed because of their attitude.
A Key Talent | One of my greatest strengths is my tenacity.  I do not give up and I would encourage the readers to use that same attitude and effort to succeed.

The Characteristics Of Success | Focusing on the short term goals has helped me achieve my goals.  I also work extremely hard at all that I do.  I am driven to succeed.

Principles I Live By | I like to help other people and do the right thing when no one else is looking.

Stacy-Lewis_P2Critical Skills I Develop | I am always working on staying calm on the golf course so a bad shot does not affect the next shot.

Lessons I Have Learnt | I have learned to appreciate the little things.  In 2009, I went to Africa and I came home wanting to work even harder to take advantage of all of the opportunities that were just sitting in front of me.

Dealing With Doubt | People in the public eye have to deal with negativity. The media and the fans have certain folks that look at the negative and want to tear you down, but you have to surround yourself with good people to encourage you and help you along the way.

Performing At My Peak | Be prepared.  I don’t get nervous unless I am not prepared.

Resources I Use To Stay Inspired | I read autobiographies of successful people and try to learn from others.  I love true stories.

My Future Dreams And Ambitions | I want to continue to help others and make the LPGA better than when I joined the tour.

The Meaning Of Life | Life is a gift and enjoy it everyday.

Stacy-Lewis_P1The Best Advice I’ve Received | Appreciate the journey.

Advice On Building Wealth | I do not place a great emphasis on money, but I have assembled a great team to help me manage my assets.  I am more proud of accomplishments than money.

On Inspiring Others | I put a lot of time into putting together a great team.  I have a phenomenal caddy, agents and financial planners all working together to help me succeed.  They are in my corner and I don’t need to worry about their motivation.

I Am Inspired By | I am inspired by the founders of the LPGA and the strength and vision they possessed to pull off such a great feat.  They planned the events, found sponsors, set up the course, organized everything and still found time to play golf.

The Legacy I Would Like To Leave | I want to leave the LPGA in a better place than when I started.
